We respect your time, and will get you back for the examination as quickly as possible. If a short wait period expected, we will notify you. Anytime that you are in the waiting area, feel free to enjoy a complimentary cup of Keurig coffee, or a magazine. There is also a small area for children to play or watch a children’s movie.
At the first visit, it is usually best to get a baseline series of xrays and photos. Our friendly and accommodating assistants are very skilled in accomplishing this quickly. Small children will typically have fewer xrays than adults. We use digital xrays which are the safest type of dental xray.
We will thoroughly review the xrays and photos, and complete a gentle, clinical exam. She will ask you about any concerns that you have, and address those concerns first and foremost. After the exam, in some cases, we may take additional intra-oral photographs. Then, she will show you these findings via the monitor in front of you. She will present your recommended treatment plan using additional visual aids when necessary. In some cases, there are alternative treatment choices. We will review pros and cons of each choice and answer any questions you have. She wants to be sure you are fully informed so you can make the best decision for your health and your smile.
In the event that treatment is needed, you may have questions about fees. Platteville Family Dentistry’s fees are very competitive. Out of pocket fees will vary from patient to patient depending on insurance plans, and financing arrangements. Mina is very skilled at getting the most from your insurance benefits, as well as facilitating payment arrangements for those who need it. We, at Platteville Family Dentistry, understand that when it comes to fees, nobody likes surprises! So, we make sure that you are fully informed before we begin treatment.
In most cases, we are able to clean your teeth the day of your first visit. In some cases, more extensive gum therapy is indicated. In such cases, we may need to reschedule your visit.
If you have any fear of dental treatment, we have Nitrous Oxide sedation available. We also have tools to make injections as comfortable as possible such as the Dental Vibe (tm) and cartridge warmers. In some cases, an anxiolytic medication can be prescribed. Please do not allow fear to keep you from getting needed dental treatment. We can help!
Of course, it is best to address dental issues as early in the disease process as possible. The most preventative approach is by leaps and bounds, the most economical. We encourage that approach whenever possible.
